Hans Puts gebruikt KLEUR en VORM om uit te drukken wat hij ziet. Net zoals we praten in flarden tekst met veel herstarten (luister maar eens naar jezelf) in plaats van nette zinnetjes zo ziet en schildert Hans de “werkelijkheid” in flarden van kleur en vorm.

Hans Puts uses COLOR and FORM to define what he sees. Just like we talk in short little, phrases, cutting off, starting again and again (just listen to yourself talk) that is how Hans sees and paints “reality” in shards of color and shape.

I have been doing watercolors in the neighbourhood, The Waag on Nieuwmarkt in particular. I will also show my latest figurative/abstract, acrylics/oil paintings on the ground floor of my studio near Nieuwmarkt.
Dit jaar heb ik veel buiten zitten tekenen in de buurt, met name de Waag op de Nieuwmarkt. Verder laat ik tijdens de Open Ateliers ook recente figuratief/abstracte kleurrijke acryl/olie schilderijen zien. (Op de begane grond, dus geen trappen, vlakbij de Nieuwmarkt).

Hans Puts maakt kleurrijke, figuratieve werken liefst met een beetje dikke verf en brokkelige kleuren. Zo ontstaat een rijke kleurschakering waardoor onze ogen voortdurend sprintjes trekken over het doek en de waarneming continu veranderd. Niks staat vast en alles beweegt. Dat geldt voor stadsgezichten, landschappen, portretten, abstracte en figuratieve werken zoals: “Bottles”. www.hansputs.com.
Hans Puts makes colorful, figurative paintings using thick paints and crumbling colors. This rich hue of color forces our eyes to take big leaps and jumps across the painting changing our perception continuously. Nothing is fixed and everything moves. Ik maak kleurrijke, figuratieve /abstracte land/zeeschappen. Het zien is een totaal ervaring. Ik denk na over de compositie, kleuren etc maar de ervaring van het gevoel staat voorop. Liefst een beetje dikke verf en brokkelige kleuren naast en door elkaar net zoals de rijke kleurschakering in de natuur en in de mens.
Door de beweeglijkheid van ons aandachtspunt (onze ogen staan nooit stil) verandert onze waarneming voortdurend, niks staat vast. Zo ook de beleving van mijn schilderijen, elke dag tonen xe weer nieuwe dingen. Hans Puts.I paint colorful, figurative/abstract land/seascapes. Their expression is a total experience. I think about composition, colors etc but the sense of feeling is paramount. I like to apply my paint in thick liberal strokes, coatings of different colors that mix on the canvas just like the rich hue in nature and the wide variety of human experiences.
Because of the constant mobility of our attention (our eyes are never fixed) our observation is constantly changing, nothing is certain. Similarly, the interpretations of my paintings are never fixed, every day they show different meanings. Hans Puts.

Schilderen is een bewustwordingsproces en verwondering over het gewone , alledaagse leven. Goed kijken is net zo iets als goed luisteren. Niet van te voren invullen wat iemand gaat zeggen maar fris luisteren . Zo onbevooroordeeld probeer ik de wereld om me heen te zien en weer te geven. Of dat nou een stadsgezicht of een (zelf) portret is Dit geldt ook voor mijn abstracte schilderijen, waarin ik een verhaal, droom of symfonie verbeeld die voor iedereen anders uit te leggen valt. Painting is a process of awareness and wonder of everyday life. To see intentionally is like listening unbiased. Opening up to somebody s words instead of not hearing somebody else s intention. Watching the world around me unprejudiced is what makes my paintings. Whether it’s a cityscape, a (self) portrait or abstract painting. Kijk uit!
Schilderen is voor mij het middel om op een natuurlijke manier naar buiten te kijken. Het oog staat niet stil, in tegendeel het beweegt voortdurend. De stukjes die ik heb gezien vormen samen het schilderij. Goed kijken is net zo iets als goed luisteren. Daar moet ik mijn best voor doen. Het is niet van te voren invullen wat iemand gaat zeggen of even een paar duizend plaatjes op internet bekijken. Ik vraag me heel bewust af wat ik zie als ik in de spiegel kijk. Na vele zelf portretten ben ik daar nog altijd niet achter. Zien is een wonder en schilderen is daar een eerbetoon aan. Daarnaast kijk ik ook naar binnen. Dan stem ik af op de innerlijke stem (de bron, het veld etc.) die mij stuurt. Ik stel me open voor de vormen en kleuren die boven komen. Ik maak het onzegbare zichtbaar. Noem het maar abstract.

My paintings are abstract in the sense that I have no intention to paint a specific image. All matter has shape, so my paintings have them. The shape or the depiction if you like is unintentional. Or in other words it has been put there unconsciously. It is quite obvious to me that the unconscious is the warehouse of the conscious. The unconscious may be hidden by a veil or the shape may be indefinite, yet it is there. People are different so each person will see something else in it and thus have their own interpretation of the picture. Unlike a definite depiction, my abstract art carries a large variety of meanings and depictions. It is all up to the viewer to understand or feel what it is. Words fail to explain.
