landschapsabstracten
In mijn landschapsabstracten probeer ik de kleuren en vormen van het landschap te herscheppen in een nieuwe compositie, die vaak een meditatief karakter heeft en waarin hopelijk de essentie van dat landschap wordt opgeroepen: abstracten van de subtiele kleuren van berkenschors, de grijzen en blauwen van het droogvallende wad bij Vlieland, donker gekleurde bergabstracten uit IJsland en het Engelse Lake District.
Ook innerlijk landschap – de ervaring van fysieke pijn, de vreugde van kleur – probeer ik in abstracte schilderijen uit te drukken en op te roepen. Mijn werk, dat al meerdere malen is tentoongesteld, gaat over schoonheid, kleur, contemplatie, vreugde, pijn.

abstract landscapes
In my abstract landscapes, taking colours and shapes from the actual landscape, I reorganize them into a new composition, often with a meditative character, and in which I try to evoke the very essence of that landscape: the subtly hued bark of birches, the greys and blues of the mudflats and wetlands between the islands in the North of the Netherlands and the mainland, the dark-coloured mountains of Iceland and Cumbria.
Inner landscape, too – the experience of physical pain, the joy of colour – can become the subject of my abstract paintings. My work, which has been exhibited several times, is about beauty, colour, contemplation, joy, pain.
